Miss Erin is spending a lot of time in March "lambing"! This means that a lot of new baby lambs are being born, and she is helping to take care of them!

When you see Miss Erin, be sure to ask her about all about lambs. She knows a lot and has some very cool facts about them!

Here are some links to some websites that tell you a little more about sheep and lambs!

Passive Programs - April

April's theme is "Reflections". On our board you will find sheets of paper to write a short story about yourself! Stories are a great way to show yourself on paper, so stop in and get a "Reflection of Me" page!

As spring is just around the corner, we have a kit to make your own Spring Poem! This kit includes spring-themed words that you can use to create a poem about this season!

Also try using the small mirror and symmetry in our Children's Room to see all the different ways symmetry works! This book includes animals and other great examples of symmetry in the world!

#UpsideDown Challenge

There is also a neat game in the Children's Room! Try on the glasses that show you the world upside down! There are all sorts of activities to try! See how many activities you can do with the world upside down!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Research shows that reading books and sharing stories with your child is one of the best ways to help them enter school with the language skills they need to be ready to learn and grow.

How it Works:
  • Pick up a Reading Log in the Children's Room at the library
  • Write down all of the books that your child reads or that you read to your child. Remember to include stories that your child hears at library story times, in preschool - any and all types of books count!
  • When you fill out 100 books, bring back the completed log to the library and we will give you another one. Each child will receive a sticker to show their progress, and a star on our wall to mark it as well.
  • If you read just 4 books a week, your child will have read 1,000 books in 5 years!

Any child who completes our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program will receive a certificate and a Party to celebrate their achievement!
